Agata-Maria Raatz is an artist of the new generation, blending innovative ideas with tradition. In addition to her solo work as a violinist, she also composes under the pseudonym Clara Jaz.
In 2025, she will release her highly anticipated album Mozart & Modern with the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, alongside a series of recitals in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.
This year also marks the debut of her new composition "Reflexe 1766" for violin and orchestra . In October, Agata-Maria will present a lecture on her compositions at the invitation of the Schweizer Mozartweg Verein.
Over the past seasons, there have been several notable moments, including her debut at Carnegie Hall, the Gstaad New Year Festival, and the First Great Award (2023) at the International Manhattan Competition in New York, under the honorary presidency of Maestro Ivo Pogorelich.
In 2023, Raatz also released her album Echo of BACH with Solo Musica, gaining recognition from critics worldwide and on radio stations alike.
Her compositions and interpretations have been broadcast on BBC, SFR 2, Radio Klassik, Catalunya Radio, Polish Radio 2, Radio New Zealand, Sveriges Radio, and other stations.
Since her concert debut at the age of 11 with the Koszalin Symphony Orchestra, she has frequently performed alongside various orchestras. Previous engagements have led her to collaborate with the Camerata Zürich, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Krakow Symphony Orchestra, and the Camerata Bern, among others.
Raatz has worked with renowned conductors such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Bernard Haitink, Kristina Poska, Douglas Bostock, Anton Steck, and Gordon Bragg. As a passionate chamber musician, she has collaborated with Nigel Kennedy as a member of his ensemble, the "Orchestra of Life."
Raatz has performed on prestigious stages, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, Symphony Hall in Birmingham, Tonhalle Zürich, Casino Bern, LutosÅ‚awski Hall in Warsaw, and the KKL Luzern.
Additionally, she has been a guest at renowned festivals such as the Murten Classics Festival, the Swiss Chamber Music Festival in Adelboden, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
Agata-Maria Raatz has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Grand Prize Virtuoso in London, the Orpheus Prize, and the Hibou Music Prizes in Switzerland. Additionally, she was honored with a special award from the Polish Minister of Culture for her exceptional musical contributions.
Raatz has drawn significant influence and inspiration for her own career through collaborations with outstanding masters such as Zakhar Bron, Benjamin Schmid, and Maxime Tholance.
When not performing, she enjoys the company of her beloved two cats, who are always by her side during the composition process, serving as the first and most devoted listeners of her new works.
Together with pianist Marcin Fleszar, she regularly performs as the duo, presenting a wide range of musical works, from early Baroque music to contemporary compositions.
